Why the Cosmos Field Matters
With approved development plans, strong recoverable reserves, and access to existing export infrastructure, Cosmos South represents a high-value offshore asset supporting long-term production growth for ATOG and Tunisia.
Safe Operations. Responsible Performance.
The Cosmos Field operates under ATOG's strong commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous operational improvement. Every stage of the field's operations is managed through strict standards, robust monitoring systems, and disciplined procedures designed to protect people, assets, and the surrounding marine environment.
Built on a foundation of reliability, accountability, and performance excellence, Cosmos Field maintains efficient production through carefully planned workflows, preventive maintenance programs, and advanced operational controls. Each activity is executed with precision to ensure consistent output while minimizing operational risk and maintaining the highest standards of integrity.
Safety remains central to every decision made across the field. Through regular inspections, workforce training, emergency preparedness, and proactive risk management, ATOG fosters a culture where safe practices are embedded into daily operations. This commitment ensures that personnel wellbeing, asset protection, and environmental stewardship remain priorities at all times.
By combining responsible decision-making with technical expertise and continuous improvement, Cosmos Field delivers sustainable performance that supports long-term energy supply and stakeholder confidence. The field stands as a reflection of ATOG's dedication to safe operations, responsible growth, and lasting operational success.
Development Plans
The approved development plan for the Cosmos South Field includes the drilling of three wells, comprising two production wells and one water injection well to optimize reservoir performance. Development operations will be carried out using the Zembra Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU), which will later be converted in-situ into a Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU) for long-term field operations.
Produced hydrocarbons will be transferred to the nearby Djerba Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for processing and storage, while natural gas will be exported through a new 28 km pipeline connected to the existing Maamoura platform and onward to the Tazerka gas plant. This integrated offshore development strategy is designed to ensure efficient production, secure export capability, and long-term operational reliability.
