Why the BBT Field Matters

The Bir Ben Tartar (BBT) production concession is a 352 sqkm onshore licence located in the prolific Ghadames Basinin southern Tunisia, adjacent to the border with Libya. The field has produced approximately 6 MMstb of oil from 21 wells and remains an important part of ATOG’s production portfolio.

Safe Operations. Responsible Performance.

The BBT field operates under ATOG’s strong commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous operational improvement. Every stage of field activity is managed through strict standards, disciplined procedures, and responsible asset stewardship.

Built on a foundation of reliability, accountability, and performance excellence, BBT maintains efficient production through structured field management, preventive maintenance programs, and proactive operational oversight.

Safety remains central to all field operations. Through workforce training, regular inspections, and risk management practices, ATOG ensures personnel wellbeing, environmental protection, and long-term operational integrity.

By combining responsible decision-making with technical expertise and continuous improvement, BBT supports sustainable energy production and reflects ATOG’s commitment to safe operations and responsible growth.

Development Plans

ATOG is planning to execute a multi-well drilling programme at the BBT concession, anticipated to commence in H2 2026, subject to ETAP’s approval, with the objective of increasing field production.

The planned development programme is expected to boost oil production to approximately 2,000 bopd, supporting enhanced field performance and long-term operational sustainability. Through strategic investment and focused redevelopment, BBT continues to play an important role in ATOG’s onshore production portfolio in Tunisia.
